Basketball Game Preview: Orr Spartans vs. Crane Medical Cougars

Orr is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will host the Crane Medical Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Orr will be strutting in after a win while Crane Medical will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Orr beat Lindblom 44-38. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Orr got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carmani Sharkey out in front who went 9-for-19 on her way to 23 points. Sharkey has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 16 times she's played. LaySha Walls was another key player, putting up seven points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Crane Medical took on Phillips on Saturday. The Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Wildcats. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Crane Medical fell to 4-1. As for Orr, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Orr might still be hurting after the 63-41 defeat they got from Crane Medical when the teams last played back in January. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
