Softball Recap: Cajon Takes a Loss

Cajon extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-10. They came up short against the Yucaipa Thunderbirds, falling 15-0. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Cajon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Gallardo, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Yucaipa, they pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Yucaipa's side, Brooklyn Dent looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dent has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Cajon will square off against Legacy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Yucaipa, they will face off against Citrus Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
