Mater Dei is a perfect 8-0 against St. John Bosco since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Mater Dei will challenge St. John Bosco at 5:30 p.m.

Mater Dei saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Loyola. The Monarchs have struggled against the Cubs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. John Bosco, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Long Beach Poly by a score of 3-1 on Saturday.

St. John Bosco had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-21.

St. John Bosco pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Mater Dei, their loss dropped their record down to 17-10-2.

Everything went Mater Dei's way against St. John Bosco in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Mater Dei made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mater Dei since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
