Football Recap: Rootstown Comes Up Short

Rootstown extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 6-4. They took a blow against the Kirtland Hornets, falling 42-7. The Rovers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

As for Kirtland, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

John Silvestro produced another solid effort rushing for 170 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, while also picking up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Another back making a difference was Ty Bledsoe, who rushed for 125 yards and one score on only eight carries.

As of now, neither Rootstown nor Kirtland have any future games scheduled.
