Baseball Game Preview: Wyoming Area Warriors vs. Lake-Lehman Knights

The Wyoming Area Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Lake-Lehman Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Wyoming Area is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Wyoming Area gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Wyoming Seminary College Prep by a score of 5-2.

Jake Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Snyder wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alex Vacula, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Ben Rogish also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wyoming Area hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Lake-Lehman suffered their closest defeat since May 9, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of MMI Preparatory School by a score of 7-5. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sam Finarelli was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Chris Sholtis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The victory got Wyoming Area back to even at 3-3. As for Lake-Lehman, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Wyoming Area came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake-Lehman in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
