Baseball Recap: Chuckey-Doak Wins Going Away Against Happy Valley

Chuckey-Doak barely beat Happy Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Black Knights put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 9-2 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Black Knights, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Randel Sauceman and Cooper Seay did most of the damage at the plate: Sauceman went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Seay scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jake Hinkle, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Chuckey-Doak pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Happy Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chuckey-Doak will host Johnson County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Knights are facing the Longhorns at the right time seeing as the Longhorns are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Happy Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Unaka at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
