Softball Game Preview: Mars Fightin' Planets vs. Western Beaver Golden Beavers

Mars is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Western Beaver a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Mars Fightin' Planets will be playing at home against the Western Beaver Golden Beavers at 3:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mars fell victim to Shaler Area and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Titans.

Paige Lauten was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off ten hits.

Beaver hit Western Beaver with a four-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Beavers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 13-6.

Kaitlyn Zele (2025) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Bella Colatriano (2026) was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Western Beaver's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mars, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
