Baseball Recap: Wilson Takes a Loss

Wilson had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it seven. They lost 7-0 to the West Covina Bulldogs. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 10-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for West Covina, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For West Covina's part, the result came thanks to Levi Ruiz's shutout, as he gave up just five hits.

At the plate, Joseph Castillo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DiMaggio Beas, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Wilson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
