Preview: Greater Vision Academy Lions vs. Lee Park Prep Knights
The Greater Vision Academy Lions will head out on the road to take on the Lee Park Prep Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greater Vision Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Lee Park Prep likes a good challenge.
Greater Vision Academy can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. Everything went their way against Gospel Light Christian as Greater Vision Academy made off with a 64-43 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Greater Vision Academy has posted since December 21, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greater Vision Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Titus Tucker, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Johntez Raspberry, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lee Park Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty Preparatory Christian on Friday, taking the game 48-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lee Park Prep.
Lee Park Prep's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brody Adams, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Isaac Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Adams scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole O' Donoghue, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Greater Vision Academy pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lee Park Prep, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Greater Vision Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 26.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lee Park Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 37.2 rebounds per game.
