Volleyball Game Preview: Escalante Lobos vs. Questa Wildcats

Escalante is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Questa Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Escalante and Cuba, and Cuba kept the tradition alive. The Lobos came up short against the Rams on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Escalante was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 25-23.

The losing side was boosted by Shea Archuleta, who had 23 digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Questa entered their contest against Raton on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-10, 16-25, 25-19.

Questa's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Escalante, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Escalante couldn't quite get it done against Questa in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Lobos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
