Basketball Recap: Sequatchie County Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Van Buren County, Sequatchie County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 75-63 victory over the Boyd Christian Broncos. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Broncos, too.

Sequatchie County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Austin Griffith led the charge by going 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with eight assists and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Evitts, who went 9 for 14 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds.

Sequatchie County's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Boyd Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Sequatchie County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-59 victory against Grundy County on the 10th. As for Boyd Christian, they will welcome Marion County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
