Basketball Recap: Jackson Ironman/Ironladies vs. Waverly Tigers
The Jackson Ironman/Ironladies can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They blew past Waverly 65-33 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Jackson who now have nine in a row.
Jackson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenzie Davis, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of T.j. Carpenter, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Jackson pushed their record up to 18-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Waverly, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.
Jackson will take on the Shermans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Unioto has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,383 points over their last 20 matches. As for Waverly, they will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Minford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in Ohio (the Falcons are ranked 152nd, while the Tigers are ranked 336th).
