Soccer Game Preview: Tempe vs. Desert Sunrise

The Tempe Buffaloes will challenge the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Tempe fell victim to Crismon and their airtight defense last Friday. They came up short against the Rattlers, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Rattlers are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Desert Sunrise came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Neither they nor Coronado could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result was nothing new for the Golden Hawks as the team haven't won a game since December 18, 2024.

Desert Sunrise's draw gives them a new season record of 1-7-1. As for Tempe, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
