After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pontiac, Rantoul was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Josie Roseman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Silver Button also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Rantoul's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Maroa-Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
Coming up, Rantoul will host Prairie Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
