If Ceres was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Johansen last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lathrop Spartans on Monday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-27, 25-17, 25-23.

Ayden Petroff had an outrageously good game for Lathrop as she had 33 assists and 13 aces. Those 13 aces gave Petroff a new career-high.

Ceres' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Lathrop, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Ceres wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Pacheco on the 17th. As for Lathrop, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Johansen on the 17th.
