She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Butenschoen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Butenschoen was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with six RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Kaelin Blakley was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Maddy Slevin was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Anacortes' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Ferndale, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
