Baseball Recap: Ketchikan Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Legacy, Ketchikan was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Homer Mariners 11-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Kings needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

The team relied heavily on Jesse Albecker, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyrus Manabat, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Ketchikan's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Ketchikan and Homer will both be playing Petersburg the next time they take the field. The Mariners will head out to face the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Kings will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
