Basketball Recap: Duke Comes Up Short

Duke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Merritt Oilers and fell 78-15. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Oilers are ranked 13th).

Duke's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Merritt, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Duke wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 28-26 victory against Blair on the 24th. Merritt has also already played their next matchup, a 73-22 loss against Seiling on the 23rd.
