They put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 12-5 victory. Considering the Trojans have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Daniel Guntherberg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Guntherberg was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Chandler Howlett was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since April 3rd. Brayden Vandesand was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Walsingham Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Norfolk Collegiate, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
