Football Recap: Corcoran Comes Up Short on the Road Against Roosevelt + How To Watch

Corcoran had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Roosevelt Rough Riders and fell 40-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 28-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Although Corcoran took the loss, they still got scores from Justin Huerta and Emersen Garcia.

Roosevelt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerry Thomas, who rushed for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 152 rushing yards gave Thomas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Barker, who rushed for 70 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Corcoran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 21-0 victory against Hanford West on the 29th. As for Roosevelt, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Atascadero at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
