North Pocono is 9-1 against Scranton since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out to take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Pocono comes in on seven and Scranton on five.
While North Pocono didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Delaware Valley on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
North Pocono got a great performance from Nick Reese as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Reese has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Reese, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Aidan Bassi was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Scranton won against Holy Redeemer on Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Knights beat Scranton Prep by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Thor Kelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Henry Bartlebaugh was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.
Scranton pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for North Pocono, their record now sits at 7-2.
North Pocono's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Trojans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Scranton, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Pocono continue to outrun the ball?
North Pocono took their victory against Scranton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
