League recap: Montgomery Bell Academy extends winning streak with victory over Millington Central

Montgomery Bell Academy extended the longest winning streak in Division II-AA this week by beating Millington Central, 38-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Brentwood Academy took down Science Hill 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

D'Andre Ferby provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Ensworth bested McCallie.

Ferby was a beast in the backfield as the Tigers beat the Blue Tornado.

PJ Settles and Ferby gave Ensworth a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Settles threw for 66 yards, while Ferby ran for 213 yards. Teammate Donovan Sheffield added to the ground attack by rushing for 82 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Kiambu Fentress. The Ensworth star has 8 catches for 287 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Baylor and McCallie. The Red Raiders enters the contest ranked ninth in the state, while Mike Newman's team ranks 10th.

Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Ricky Bowers' team takes on Montgomery Bell Academy. The Tigers' offense has recorded 207 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Marty Euverard's team has permitted only 54 on the year.

Pope John Paul II and Battle Ground Academy played the closest game in Division II-AA this week, with Pope John Paul II eventually emerging with a 10-7 victory.
