Softball Preview: Curtis Warriors vs. Brooklyn Technical Engineers
The Curtis Warriors and the Brooklyn Technical Engineers, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Curtis is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Midwood get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory last Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Curtis got a massive performance out of Isabella Batista, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Sophia Morse, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Curtis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn Technical put another one in the bag back in March to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Grand Street Campus with a sharp 17-7 victory. While the Engineers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Curtis now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Brooklyn Technical, their record is now 4-0.
Curtis couldn't quite get it done against Brooklyn Technical in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 13-10. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
