Soccer Game Preview: Selinsgrove vs. Midd-West

The Selinsgrove Seals are taking a road trip to take on the Midd-West Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Selinsgrove turned things around against Jersey Shore on Wednesday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given Selinsgrove's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Jersey Shore are ranked 383rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gabe Heimbach and Nick Bisaccia scored both of Selinsgrove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Midd-West's match on Wednesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Everything went their way against Williamsport as they made off with a 4-0 victory. Midd-West's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Midd-West's win bumped their record up to 12-1-1. As for Selinsgrove, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.

Selinsgrove came out on top in a nail-biter against Midd-West in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seals since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
