Basketball Recap: Kemp Takes a Loss

Kemp lost against Malakoff back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kemp Yellowjackets were beaten by the Malakoff Tigers 66-16. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Kemp's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Miranda Limon, who posted three points, and Kimberly Mendez, who earned no points.

Kemp is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9. As for Malakoff, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kemp will square off against Van at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Malakoff, they will take on Mineola at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Malakoff's favor as the team sits on 16 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mineola has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
