Basketball Recap: Claiborne Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Claiborne Academy can now relate to. They were dealt a 71-43 defeat at the hands of the Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rebels have suffered since December 7, 2023.

Reagan Feazell and Garrett Adams certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Feazell went 6 of 11 to rack up 14 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks, while Adams went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points. What's more, Adams also posted a 55% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyler MonK, who posted eight points.

Woodlawn Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Sinclair, who went 12 of 20 on his way to 27 points and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Sinclair has scored at least a third of Woodlawn Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Reed, who went 8 for 17 to rack up 19 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Claiborne Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Woodlawn Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

Claiborne Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodlawn Prep, they will face off against Marvell Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodlawn Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.3 points per game this season.
