Basketball Recap: La Vega Picks Up 13th Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and La Vega had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took their match on Monday with ease, bagging a 61-29 victory over the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Vega to victory, but perhaps none more so than CeMaria Kelly, who posted 13 points and seven boards. Kelly continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cra'Lajah Bradley, who put up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

The win (which was La Vega's 13th in a row) raised their record to 30-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45.2 points. As for Hardin-Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 20-13.

Looking ahead, La Vega will challenge China Spring on Thursday. China Spring will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something La Vega surely won't give up without a fight. Hardin-Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
