Vashon has been a dominant force in the Show-Me-State during their state championship run that spans the past seven seasons. The Wolverines have compiled a 143-29 record during that time with COVID-19 ending their 2019-20 season short following a convincing state quarterfinal victory.

Central (Park Hills) 64-37 in 2023, took down
Burroughs (St. Louis) 68-37 in 2024 prior to another lopsided victory in the title game this season.

The convincing win capped an impressive postseason run that saw the Wolverines win by an average of 37 points per contest through four state tournament games.
After falling behind 14-10 at the end of the first quarter in tonight's Class 4 title game, the Wolverines used a strong second period to take a 40-24 lead into the intermission. Vashon extended their advantage to 67-36 at the end of the third quarter before cruising to the victory.
Vashon (27-2) captured the Washington Tournament of Championship title to open their 2024-25 campaign and piled up a record of 13-1 against out-of-state competition. They own wins over teams from Arkansas, California, Florida Illinois, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
Former star guard Jimmy McKinney Jr. wins a state title in his first season as head coach after taking over the reigns prior to the 2024-25 season. Previous head coach Antonio Irons led Vashon to state titles in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 before stepping down while his father, Floyd Irons, led the program to championships in 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1994, 2000 and 2002.
