Baseball Game Preview: North Saxons vs. South Spartans

For the second straight game, North will face off against South. The Saxons will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Spartans at 3:30 p.m.

North fell victim to South and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to the Spartans. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Saxons haven't been shut out since back in February.

North got a good showing from Shouta Saito, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Saito also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Saxons are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-14 otherwise.

South is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for North, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-15.
