Softball Game Preview: El Toro Chargers vs. St. Joseph Knights

The El Toro Chargers will be taking part in a tournament against the St. Joseph Knights at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, El Toro came up short against Irvine and fell 7-3. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Saylor Hinkson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Navarro-Poist, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

Even though they lost, El Toro hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Irvine struck out ten times.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph came up short against Notre Dame (SO) on Saturday, falling 7-1.

St. Joseph saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shai Valadez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Cali Gamble was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

El Toro's record now sits at 1-3. As for St. Joseph, their record is now 1-1.
