Baseball Recap: Carbon Comes Up Short

Carbon managed to slip by Manti the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Dinos lost 10-3 to the Templars on Tuesday. The Dinos just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Stockton Kennedy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

On the hitting side, Logan Madrigal was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rydge Butler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Carbon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Manti, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Coming up, Manti will challenge Canyon View at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Templars surely won't give up without a fight. Carbon will be paying especially close attention to Manti's matchup: after Manti faces off against Canyon View, they'll take on Carbon again at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
