Basketball Recap: Valencia Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Valencia waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Laguna Hills Hawks by a score of 70-60. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-56 two weeks ago.

Laguna Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Burnham, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Burnham's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cyrus Yusuf, who posted 15 points.

Valencia's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Laguna Hills, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12.
