Recap: Jefferson Dragons vs. Robinson Knights

The Jefferson Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Robinson 66-10. Jefferson has struggled against Robinson recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Laila Keys was Jefferson's leading scorer, having posted five points. Iyana Sykes-Griffin held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Robinson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jennie Gutman out in front who scored 20 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Gutman grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Natalie Ashburn, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Jefferson bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.5 points per game. As for Robinson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Jefferson is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Strawberry Crest at 8:00 p.m. on December 6th. Strawberry Crest comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Robinson, they will be playing at home against Riverview at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverview is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
