Volleyball Game Preview: Howell Vikings vs. Howell North Knights

The Howell Vikings will square off against the Howell North Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Howell has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Howell North will arrive with seven straight wins.

Howell is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 22nd on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Marquette.

While Howell was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Howell North extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Alex Williams. The Knights blew past St. Dominic 3-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to Williams, who had 13 digs and one assist. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games he's played.

Howell North didn't let St. Dominic take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 27-25, 25-22.

Howell North's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Howell, their loss dropped their record down to 12-16.

Howell was able to grind out a solid win over Howell North when the teams last played back in April, winning 3-1. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
