Volleyball Game Preview: Florence Bobcats vs. Suring Eagles

The Florence Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Suring Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Florence sitting on three straight wins and Suring on 13.

Florence is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Niagara with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Florence can attribute much of their success to Ashley Peterson, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most digs Peterson has posted over her last seven matchups.

Meanwhile, Suring made easy work of Elcho on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Suring's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Florence, their win bumped their record up to 30-14.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Florence has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8 aces per game. However, it's not like Suring struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Everything went Florence's way against Suring when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Florence made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
