Basketball Recap: Madison Reckley and Morghan Reckley Secure Win for Sandy Creek

While Sandy Creek didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Upson-Lee Knights on Tuesday as the Sandy Creek Patriots made off with a 71-49 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Sandy Creek to victory were Morghan Reckley and Madison Reckley. Morghan almost dropped a triple-double on 27 points, nine assists, and ten steals, while Madison went 11 of 21 en route to 25 points along with six assists and five boards. Morghan's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayla Cox, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Sandy Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Upson-Lee, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Sandy Creek will head out to face off against Whitewater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandy Creek is facing Whitewater at the right time seeing as Whitewater is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Upson-Lee, they will take on Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
