Baseball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Gilbert's offense. They came up short against the Nonnewaug Chiefs on Monday, falling 9-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 21-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Gilbert's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Nonnewaug, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gilbert will take on rival Shepaug Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Nonnewaug is set to face off against their familiar foe Lakeview at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
