After losing to Patterson the last time they met, River Islands decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Riptide were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Riptide, who have now won five matchups in a row.

River Islands not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Patterson between 14 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14, 25-16.

River Islands' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Patterson, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
