Volleyball Recap: Western Harnett Comes Up Short

Western Harnett had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it six. They fell just short of the Terry Sanford Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

As for Terry Sanford, the win got them back to even at 4-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 24, 2024.

Leading Terry Sanford to victory were Julia Martyak and Addyson McMillian. Martyak had seven digs and four aces, while McMillian had seven digs, six kills, two aces, and one block. That's the most digs McMillian has posted over her last seven contests.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Harnett will take on South Johnston at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Terry Sanford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
