Basketball Game Preview: DeSoto County Bulldogs vs. Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons

DeSoto County is 0-9 against Charlotte since January of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The DeSoto County Bulldogs will welcome the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

DeSoto County will head into Tuesday's matchup after some sweet revenge against Sebring: DeSoto County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sebring, but still couldn't quite topple them. DeSoto County claimed a resounding 70-37 victory over Sebring. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

DeSoto County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yahri Tyler, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Tyler has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cherish Wiggins, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and seven assists.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Charlotte, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They managed a 58-52 victory over George Jenkins on Friday.

Charlotte's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for DeSoto County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
