It's playoff time, and Little Cypress-Mauriceville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gatesville Hornets on Friday, sneaking past 9-7. The Bears are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 20 straight.

Eden Frenzel and Keylie Washburn did most of the damage at the plate: Frenzel got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Washburn got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Frenzel has posted since back in March. Lexis Moss was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five RBI.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville's victory bumped their record up to 33-4-1. As for Gatesville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-15-1.
