Volleyball Recap: Vermilion Beats Lorain for Their Third Straight Victory

Vermilion won the last time they faced Lorain and Haley Stepp did her part to make sure it happened again. The Sailors walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Titans on Saturday for which the team can thank Stepp, who had 21 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Vermilion had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-20, 25-22, 25-14.

The win was the third in a row for Vermilion, bringing their record up to 8-12. As for Lorain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Vermilion will face off against Port Clinton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lorain, they will square off against Mentor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
