Baseball Recap: Alhambra Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Alhambra won the last time they faced Carl Hayden Community and things went their way on Monday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Falcons. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Ricardo Fonseca was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Alhambra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carl Hayden Community only posted an OBP of .263.

Alhambra has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Carl Hayden Community, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Alhambra beat the Falcons by a score of 11-3 on Wednesday.
