Softball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it seven. They lost 20-3 to the Presentation Toppers. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Toppers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Presentation, they now have a winning record of 3-2. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Presentation's part, Joanna Logsdon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Logsdon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Khylie Malone was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Kristianna Williams, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Coming up, Central will face off against Valley on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Presentation, they will square off against DuPont Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crimsons will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Toppers surely won't give up without a fight.
