Soccer Game Preview: Warren Township vs. Stevenson

The Warren Township Blue Devils will head out to face off against the Stevenson Patriots at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Stevenson better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Warren Township's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Warren Township really gets things going. The Blue Devils' defense stepped up to hand Mundelein a 3-0 shutout. Considering Warren Township have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Stevenson came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Scouts with a sharp 6-1 win. That five goal margin sets a new team best for Stevenson this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Warren Township and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Stevenson, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-2.

Warren Township beat Stevenson by a goal in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
