Basketball Recap: Fort Lee Takes a Loss

Fort Lee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Mahwah Thunderbirds 75-42. The Bridgemen lost against the Thunderbirds in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 63-53 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Lee lost, don't look at Nave Murray. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and six rebounds. Murray is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Brewton, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Fort Lee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Fort Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Mahwah, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Fort Lee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-39 loss against Lodi on the 30th. Mahwah has also already played their next game, a 73-64 win against New Milford on the 1st.
