Basketball Game Preview: Mill Creek Hawks vs. Buford Wolves

The Mill Creek Hawks and the Buford Wolves will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Mill Creek is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Rabun Gap-Nacoochee just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 73-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hawks came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Eagles are ranked 268th).

Meanwhile, Buford came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Black Knights with points to spare, taking the game 73-54.

Buford pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mill Creek, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.
