Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Little Miami's Winning Streak

After a string of eight wins, Little Miami's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Lakota East Thunderhawks by a score of 6-5. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Thunderhawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Little Miami got a good showing from Luke Brewsaugh, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Brewsaugh a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Thomas Jackson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colin Milligan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Little Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Lakota East, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-11.

Coming up, Little Miami will head out to square off against Lakota West at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakota East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
