Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only David Emanuel Academy walked away with it. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-14 win over the Monsignor Donovan Catholic Rams. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Sailor Powell was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 178 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions. Hudson Starley was another key receiver, picking up 69 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: David Emanuel Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to David Emanuel Academy's defense and their 3.5 sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Mason Williams, John-Nathan Martin, and Riley Phillips, who each picked up one sack apiece.

With the victory, David Emanuel Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Monsignor Donovan Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, David Emanuel Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Sherwood Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sherwood Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so David Emanuel Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Monsignor Donovan Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
