Softball Recap: Pope Francis Prep Wins Going Away Against Hampden Charter School of Science

Pope Francis Prep won against Springfield Renaissance last Tuesday with 22 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Cardinals' way against Hampden Charter School of Science as they made off with a 22-2 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 14 runs or more this season.

Misha Lacroix made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Lacroix was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brianna York was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Rachel Guerrero, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Pope Francis Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .438 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Pope Francis Prep's record now sits at 4-1. As for Hampden Charter School of Science, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
